Good evening creatures from the human lagoon, I do hope you have seen something in the world today that makes you see some of the things that make us realize we are just where we are. That we are not all that special as a being but special as a outcome. Yes, we are a technology that has formed over evolution and the effects of the world around us. We become what we are by the slow moving hand of the planet and evolution.
I am a happy critter that has a chance to think and wonder while sipping on a cup of coffee, it makes me very happy. To know that I am alive and here for a time that gives me memory until the memory becomes a moment of thought before death.
The manufactured world says, “Be useful.”
Nature says, “Be part of it.”
Humans may borrow land and call it possession, but the Earth knows better. The deed, the fence, the road, the machine, the argument, the nation, even the name we give the field, all of it is temporary ink on stone that weather already knows how to erase. I want to have that, a life of temporary time and means that will not damage the things around me. That the animals will remember me as a caregiver, something to come to that will love and help them. Give a home for a time that is ours and not, one of the schedules of the human race. Life is not owned by the creature living it. Life is borrowed from the planet, worn for a while, then returned to be remade.
Life borrows from Earth. Bone, blood, leaf, feather, shell, claw, skin, hunger, breath. Then life returns what it borrowed. Decomposition is not failure. It is the planet balancing its books without cruelty. The carbon cycle, for example, moves carbon through land, oceans, atmosphere, and living things, tying life and climate into one vast exchange.
That is just what I ponder, not much just life and the very existence of us and the planet, not much.
Until Later
Much Love
Your Friendly Ginger From The Woods.
